Shri Guru charan saroj raja, nij man mukur sudhaar Barnau Raghubar vimal jasu, jo daayak phal chaar
Budhiheen tanu jaanike, sumirau pawan kumaar Bal budhi vidya dehu mohi, harahu kalesh vikaar

 

May the pollen dust of Shri Guruji's lotus feet clean the mirror of my mind. I profess the pure untainted glory of shri Raghuvir which bestows the four purushartha's of life.(Dharma,Artha,Kama and Moksha). Aware of the deficiency of my intelligence, I contemplate on Pawan Kumar and humbly ask for strength, intelligence and true knowledge and relieve me of all blemishes and pain.

Jai Hanuman gyaan guna saagar, jai kapeesh tihu lok ujagar
Ram doot atulita bala dhama, anjani putra pawan suta nama 2

Victory to thee, O'Hanumaan !the ocean of wisdom and qualities. Hail to you O'Kapisha! Who illuminates the three worlds with it 's glory. You are the divine messenger of Shri Ram, the repository of immeasurable strength born from Anjana and known as the son of Pawan(Wind).

Maha veer vikram bajarangee, kumati nivari sumati ke sangee
Kanchan baran biraj suvesha, kanan kundal kunchit kesha 4

You are valiant and brave and a true strider with limbs as sturdy as Vajra, You dispel the darkness of evil thoughts , on you attends good sense and Wisdom. Your physique is shining golden colored and your dress is Royal. You wear earrings and have curly hair.

Haath bajra au dhvajaa biraaje, kaandhe moonj janeu saaje
Sankar suwan kesri nandan, tej prataap maha jaga vandan 6

Your hands are as vajra itself and carry the flag of victory and wear the sacred thread of munj on your shoulder. As a descendant of Lord Shankar, you are the comfort and pride of Kesari. With the luster of your vast Sway, you are propitiated all over the universe.

Vidya vaan guni ati chaatur, Ram kaaj karibe ko aatur
Prabhu charitra sunibe ko rasiya, Ram Lakhan Sita man basiya 8

You are the repository of learning, good character and intelligence, always keen to carry out the behest's of Shri Ram. You are an ardent listener of Shri Ram Katha(Life stories)and always live in the hearts of Shri Ram, Lakshman and Sita.

Sookshma roop dhari siyahi dikhaawa, vikata roop dhari lanka jaraava
Bheem roop dhari asur sanghaare, Ramchandra ke kaaj sanware 10

You appeared in Diminutive form in front of Sita, but assumed an awesome form when you put Lanka on fire. With over-whelming might you destroyed the Asura's (demons) and performed Shri Ram's work with great skill.

Laay sajeewan lakhan jiyaaye, shri Raghubeer harash ur laaye
Raghupati keenhi bahut baraai, tum mam priya bharat sam bhaai 12

You brought Sanjivan and restored Lakshman back to life and Shri Raghuvir embraced you with his heart full of joy. Shri Raghupati lustily extolled your excellence and said "You are as dear to me as my brother Bharat"

Sahas badan tumhro yash gaave, as kahi shreepati kanth lagaawe
San kaadika brahmaadi muneesha, narad sarad sahita aheesha 14

My whole body is thrilled with joy and is singing your glory; saying thus Shri Ram warmly embraced Hanuman ji. Sages like Sanak, Sanandan, Sanatan and Sanat Kumar and even Lord Brahma. The great hermit Narada, mother Saraswati and Shesh Naag(The one with immeasurable dimensions).

Jam kuber digpaal jahaate, kavi kovid kahi sake kahaate
Tum upkaar sugreevahi keenha, Ram milaaye raaj pad deenha 16

Even Yamraj(Devta of death)Kuber(Devta of wealth)Digpals(Protectors of the 10 cardinal directions)have been vying with one another singing your glory. How mere a poet can give adequate statement of your super excellence. You rendered a great service to Sugriv by uniting him with Shri Ram who installed him on the Royal Throne.

Tumro mantra vibhishan maana, lankeshwar bhaye sab jag jaana
Jug sahasra yojan par bhanu, leelyo taahi madhur phal jaanu 18

By heeding your advise,Vibhishan became The king of Lanka this is known all over. On your own you dashed upon the sun, which is at a fabulous distance of thousands of miles, thinking of it to be a sweet luscious fruit.

Prabhu mudrika meli mukh maahi, jaladhi laanghi gaye achraj naahi
Durgam kaaj jagat ke jete, sugam anugrah tumhre tete 20

Carrying Shri Ram's signet ring in your mouth,there is hardly any wonder that you easily leapt the ocean. All difficult tasks of the world become aesy with your kind grace.

Ram duware tum rakhawaare, hota na aagya binu paisare
Sab sukha lahai tumhari sharna, tum rakshak kahoo ko darna 22

You are the sentry at the door of Shri Ram,s devine abode. Without your permission no one can enter it. Devotees feel fearless under your benign protection.

Aapan teja samharo aapay, teenahu lok haankate kaape
Bhoot pisaach nikat nahi aaway, mahaveer jab naam sunaway 24

You alone are befitted to carry your own splendid valour . The whole universe tremour at your thunderous call. All evil forces keep away, with the sheer mention of Shri Mahavir's victorious name.

Nasay rog harayi sab pira, japat nirantar hanumat beera
Sankat te hanuman churaaway, man krama vachan dhyaan jo laaway 26

All diseases, pain and suffering disappear on regularly reciting Shri Hanuman's holy name. The one who remember Shri Hanumanji in thought , words and action with sincerity will be rescued from all crises in life.

Sab par ram tapasvi raja, tin ke kaaj sakal tum saaja
Aur manorath jo koi laaway, soi amita jeewan phal paaway 28

All who hail and worship Shri Ram, you make all their difficult tasks very easy. Whosoever comes to you with any desire in mind, will be secured with the fruit of life.

Charo yuga partaap tumhaara, hey parasidha jagat ujiyaara
Sadhu sant ke tum rakhaware, asura nikandan Ram dulare 30

Through all the four Yuga's(ages)your magnificent glory is acclaimed far and wide, your fame is radiantly acclaimed all over. You are the saviour and guardian of all saints and sages. The destroyer of all demons and the dearest of Shri Ram.

Ashta sidhi nav nidhi ke daata, as bara deen Janki mata
Ram rasaayan tumhre paasa, sadaa raho raghupati ke daasa 32

You are the bestower of eight Sidhies( Eight fold Yogic Power)and nine Nidhies(Divine treasures) as this boon was given to you by Mother Janki(Sita) You possess the power of devotion to Shri Ram and will always remain Shri Raghupati's Dedicated disciple.

Tumhre bhajan Ram ko bhaaway, janam janam ka dukh bisraaway
Anta kaal Raghubar pur jaayi, jahan janma hari bhakt kahaai 34

With devotion towards you one can find Shri Ram and become free from the sufferings of birth and death. Leaving this world one will enter the divine abode of Shri Ram , thereafter in all future births born as Lord's Devotee.

Aur dewta chita na dharhee, hanumat seyi sarwa sukha karhee
Sankata katay mitay sab peera , jo sumiray hanumat bal beera 36

One need not to entertain any other deity for Propitiation, as the devotion of Shri Hanuman alone will give you all happiness. One is freed from all sufferings and ill fated contingencies when they worship Lord Shri Hanuman.

Jai jai jai Hanuman gosaayi, kripa karahu gurudev ki nayi
Jo shat baar paath kar koyi, chhootahi bandi maha sukh hoyi 38

Hail, Hail, Hail Shri Hanuman who is the master of the senses. Bless me in the capacity of my supreme Guru. The one who recites this one hundred times will be freed from bondage and enjoys the highest bliss.

Jo yah parhay Hanuman chalisa, hoy sidhi saakhee gaurisa
Tulsidas sada hari cheraa, keejay nath hriday mah deraa 40

All those who recite the Hanuman chalisa are sure to be benedicted. Such in the presense of no less then Lord Shankar himself. Tulsidas is a slave at Lord Shri Ram's lotus feet for ever and prays; "Oh Lord! May you be enshrined within my heart"

Pawan tanay sankat haran, mangal moorti roop
Ram lakhan sita sahita, hriday basahu sur bhoop.

Oh Son of the Wind, symbol of auspiciousness, Lord of Deities Along with Shri Ram, Lakshman and Sita ,
May you be enshrined in my heart.
